I’m thrilled to share this review written by one of my critique partners and writer friends, Cynthia Mackey. The reason? Cynthia was there for me when I was revising Santiago’s manuscript, so she read and offered suggestions/feedback on my story when it was coming together, before it got sold and published. As you can imagine, it’s very touching for me to have her provide a review of this story that is special for her in a unique way.
I loved reading how in her day to day as a teacher, Cynthia has experienced having a classroom not with one, but more Santiagos. I’m happy to hear she finds the book realistic and useful to embrace a real life situation that many kids moving from one country to another go through by not being able to communicate in the new language they are faced with.
I invite you to read Kid Lit Village’s complete review here.
Cynthia, I’m grateful for having you in my corner. I hope we continue to share this journey and to support each other through many more stories. Hugs!
